A new study of indigenous DNA rewrites history books

An international team of scientists, including researchers from Murdoch University, has published findings that re-interpret the history of our species.
The document appears in this week's edition of the international journal Science psychology associates degree.
The team reconstructed the DNA code of an individual whole (or genome) from a hair sample given by a West Australian Aboriginal man about a hundred years.
By sequencing the genome, the researchers showed that indigenous Australians are directly descended from an early expansion of rights in Asia which took place some 70,000 years, at least 24,000 years before the population movements that gave rise the current Europeans and Asians.
The results imply that modern-day indigenous Australians are in fact the direct descendants of the first who arrived in Australia from 50,000 years.
The study from a lock of hair given to a British anthropologist by an Aboriginal man in the Goldfields region of Western Australia in the early 20th century.
One hundred years later, researchers isolated the DNA of that hair, it helps to explore the genetics of the first Australians and provide guidance on how humans first dispersed across the globe.
The genome, showed no genetic contribution of European modern Australians, shows that the ancestors of human indigenous ancestors separated from other human populations of 64 to 75.000 years.
Indigenous Australians are descended from so early modern explorers, people who migrated to Asia before eventually reaching Australia about 50,000 years ago.
By showing this, the study shows Indigenous Australian population as the longest association with the land they now live.
